Enemy of Peace
Those who belong are those who shall live
Owners of the land – simply the air shall testify
The waters, in the stream of events shall say:
The spirit may sink but shall come again to fly.
We live.
A person, I know not, once uttered to me:
"Little you are!
Take no enemy but do take a stand
Take no hostile attitude and stretch your hand
To those who shall live together on one land."
My mind, twisted and squeezed but never puzzled says:
Keep awoke. It's a threat --- it's a threat.
Enemy of peace is the pitiless home destroyer,
The cruel occupier,
The rival of people of the land with no conquered dreams.
How shall children blossom, flourish,
And only move --
Under the malicious soldier's boot
At the tank's ammo shoot
In the wreckage of the homes -- weeps of Mom
On the shattered bed of the route.
I hear them say:
"As we inject you with a dose of merciless cancer --
You shall have moved no inch
Shall (you) seek no treatment, no concern, no notice –
And no anything.
Take the dose. You may live."
Why accept strangers at home; Those who…
Make my existence on my land --
And breathing my own air an obstacle.
Blame not me, never me –
And if you hear me say of course to chat—
The beating heart says no
The precious land says no.
Believe it or not;
I survive and revive to love Jerusalem and about.
